As the year draws to a close, we wanted to share some of the highlights from a truly exciting 12 months at Sunlit Solar. Thanks to your support, we’ve achieved some amazing milestones while continuing to champion clean, renewable energy in our community.
What We’ve Achieved in 2024
🌞889 kW of solar power installed by Sunlit Solar this year.
🌳 That’s the equivalent of saving approximately 743 tons of CO2 emissions, or planting nearly 30,000 trees!
📍 We’ve moved! This year we set up shop in our brand-new office, giving us more space to grow and support our amazing customers. We haven’t gone far…we’re just next door to our old office in Westhay.
💷The commercial installations completed this year will collectively save our customers over £2.5 million throughout the lifetime of their PV systems.

🏡 100th Installation Milestone: We’re excited to celebrate the milestone of completing our 100th solar installation as part of the Green Wedmore Solar Challenge 1000 initiative – finishing the year strong with a total of 105 installations!
💰 Launched Our Referral Scheme: Earn £100 for every friend who completes a solar installation with Sunlit Solar – because sharing the sunshine should be rewarding! 🌞
🎄Christmas is a time for giving but we do this all year round!🎄
Community Sponsorship & Support
🌍 We’ve joined forces with two more community schemes: Axevale and Priddy, adding to the successful Green Wedmore and Glastonbury partnerships. Together, we’re driving renewable energy adoption further than ever before.
⭐ We’ve donated equipment to various facilities. This includes a reconditioned inverter for Walton Village Hall, a solar pump for Wedmore Village Farm and wiring a solar panel for the scoreboard at Tor Rugby Club. These are just a few examples of our many community-focused initiatives!
🎉 Community Sponsorships: From local events to charity initiatives, we’ve loved supporting the vibrant communities we’re proud to serve – Wedmore Beer Festival, Wedmore U16s Football Team, IoW U12s and U14s Cricket Teams, IoW Bowls Club, Tor Rugby Club U10s and U8s, Wedmore PTA, Wedmore Theatre Club, Sand Cider Festival, Ashcott Beer Festival, Morgonians Rugby Club, our very own Harry Brookes who plays for Wedmore Reserves, Georgina Sweet, Wedmore in Bloom – the list goes on!
🎓 School Workshops: Mike has been into Wedmore First School to run a free solar power workshop to teach the next generation about the benefits of solar power. If you would like Mike to come and talk to your school or group in 2025, please let us know!
🪢The Wedmore Scout Hut stayed powered up thanks to Tesla’s advanced energy storage system: As well as installing a free solar array at the Scout Hut, this year, Sunlit Solar installed a Tesla Powerwall 2 at cost. During the recent Storm Darragh, the battery’s Storm Watch technology showed its true power.
💡 Here’s how it worked:
The Powerwall detected the incoming storm and automatically charged itself to full capacity in preparation for any potential power cuts.
If the grid had gone down, the Scout Hut’s power would have seamlessly switched to the Powerwall, ensuring zero interruption to their electricity supply.
