Solar Maintenance & Repairs

If your solar PV system was installed by another company and is not performing as expected, Sunlit Solar can carry out a professional Solar Appraisal to help identify the issue.
Our Solar Appraisal service involves one of our experienced engineers visiting your property to conduct a visual inspection of the existing system and assess any obvious faults or concerns.
Solar Appraisals are available from £360 + VAT, depending on location. This price covers a visual appraisal of the system. If you require a written report following the visit, these are available from £90 + VAT.
Assessing and fault-finding on a third-party installation can be a time-intensive process, as every system is different. It often involves reviewing the original installation information, investigating the issue on site and completing administrative work before and after the visit.
In around 95% of cases, we are able to get the system back into working order during the appraisal visit. If further remedial work, replacement parts or additional investigation is required, we will explain our findings clearly and provide a separate quotation before any further work is carried out.
What we need before booking an appraisal
To help us understand your system and the problem you are experiencing, we will usually ask you to provide:
- A brief description of the issue
- A copy of your MCS Certificate for the solar PV installation
- A copy of your National Grid connection confirmation letter, also known as your DNO approval
- Photographs of the solar panels, inverter, consumer unit, incoming meter and generation meter
- Any other photographs or information that may help us understand the installation
Once we have reviewed this information, our team can arrange a suitable date for the appraisal.
Our aim is to give you clear, practical advice on the condition of your system and the best next steps, even where the original installation was carried out by another installer.
